I’ve been looking through the pictures I took last weekend, and have finally posted some on my photography blog. Here is one, but go HERE, to my other blog to see the rest! My sister-in-law has an adorable family. 🙂

My Little Sweeties
We spent the last few days in Missouri visiting Steven’s family. I had so much fun visiting with his family and playing with his sister’s little girls. Hanna and Kaeleigh have both grown so much since I last saw them back in the summer. Oh I have missed them! As soon as I stepped out of the car at Kathi’s, Hanna was out the door and jumping in my arms.
It is so amazing to see their little personalities coming out. Hanna is 3 months shy of 3 years old, and she is obviously a girly girl. She has loved shoes, clothes, and having her hair fixed since she was a year old. She’s a very polite little girl and is very caring. She gets very concerned and asks, “Are you ok?” if she hears someone, even strangers, say ouch or make a face like you’ve hurt yourself. Hanna hates having her hands dirty. On her first birthday, she licked the side of her cake to keep from having to put her hands in it. Now, she asks for a napkin when she eats and wants to wash her hands as soon as they are dirty. She is also my little sweetie. Hanna likes to go pick up my moter-in-law’s cell phone, take it to her, and say, “Aunt Emmy. Call her.” How can you not love that? She’s definitely stolen my heart.
Even at less than 7 months old, Kaeleigh is already so different than her older sister. Kaeleigh is a very easy going baby. She only cries when she’s hungry. She also….
Those are mashed taters all over her feet, and carots on her face. Saturday evening we went to his dad and stepmom’s house for dinner with his sister and her family. After everyone had finished eating, Kathi and I decided to let Kaeleigh have some of the leftover mashed potatoes right out of the serving bowl. She loved them. 🙂
Kaeleigh Jo is such a happy baby! She loves music, and her big sister. Hanna always makes her laugh, and Kaeleigh never makes a sound when Hanna smothers her with hugs and kisses. She also started crawling over the weekend! Kaeleigh is in awe of her Uncle Steven. She was constantly staring at him all weekend. No matter who was holding her, she’d turn to stare at Steven. I do see her following in her sister’s footsteps with her love of accessories. She loves wearing hats and headbands.
Saturday morning I got the chance to go to the park with the girls and their parents for a family photo session! I can’t wait to get their pictures up on my wall! I’ll post some here as soon as I sort through them.

Christmas 2008
Although Christmas isn’t technically over for us (one more to go!), I thought I’d go ahead and get a post up of Christmas so far.
Our Christmas started on December 23, when Steven and I exchanged our gifts. Usually I am opposed to opening gifts any earlier than the 24th, but Steven just gets too excited! Good thing he waited until the 23rd to buy my gift or we would have been having Christmas in November!
Christmas is an odd holiday for us. With our anniversary and Steven’s birthday only two weeks before, sometimes there isn’t much left to ask for! Some years we both get big stuff at the same time, some years both small stuff at the same time, some years it is a mix-and-match. This year I got my big gifts (iPhone and our Snowball trip) for our anniversary, and Steven got small stuff for his birthday and our anniversary.
For Christmas, he got his big gift. Steven got a paintball gun and accessories. He said he didn’t think I had gotten it because I told him I only spent $50. Which was true…somewhat. That’s all I spent from our checking account! 🙂 He didn’t know I’d been hiding money from my photography work. He seems pretty happy with it. The pile of wood waiting to be burned in our backyard was yellow by noon the next day.
I got the Wii Music game, which is a lot of fun! We spent Tuesday night playing it. You can play 1+ player games or you can create a 1+ player “jam session.” Our first creation was a video of Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star featuring my Mii playing banjo with Steven’s Mii playing tuba. It was pretty funny.
We also gave Emerald and Minnie Pearl their gifts. Roush was nowhere to be found at the time. Apparently the girls had irritated him enough that he retreated into hiding all night. Minnie and Emerald enjoyed their stockings full of toys though…for about 24 hours that is. Emerald managed to chew a hole in and eat a portion of all of them by the next afternoon! Good thing they came from the dollar aisle at Target!
Wednesday we spent the day at our house. We cooked breakfast together, watched a movie, tried out Steven’s paintball gun, and were just genuinely lazy. Wednesday night, we went to my parents’ house to exchange gifts with them and my sister and her husband. We also brought Emerald and Minnie Pearl so my mom and dad could give them more presents. My parents got each of the animals (our 4 dogs and 1 cat and my sisters 2 dogs and cat) a goody bag filled with treats and toys. Each of the dogs got a new tennis ball, and so far Emerald hasn’t destroyed them. Steven says Mom is “hinting.” While that may be a bit true, my sister and I also agree that she really wants another dog. We give them a year before they have another one, probably another little cocker spaniel.

Minnie Pearl is such a cuddly dog. She insisted on lying in the floor next to Steven, patting him on the face and snuggling with him.
Thursday morning we got up about 7 and headed to Pine Tree for the annual breakfast feast at Big’s (my mom’s mom) house. The second photo below is of the table cloth. Big has had this table cloth for years. I’m not sure exactly when the first time it was used was, but I know I’ve seen signatures from the late 70’s on it. Every Christmas, everyone in attendance has to sign and date it.
That’s all for now. I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
Jennica’s Wedding
Another overdue post…
One of my longtime best friends got married last month. Jennica and Kris tied the knot at Harding University in Searcy. It was beautiful! Thankfully, I got the chance to go down the night before with Lauren, Jessica, and Allison to hang out with Jenn and some of her Harding friends before the big day. We had a lot of fun hanging out, eating (of course!) and watching a bunch of goofy youtube videos.
The next morning, our pal Brent came into town a bit early, so we (Lauren, Jessica, and myself) kidnapped him for some shopping and lunch before the wedding.
After the wedding, Steven and I went out to eat with Mom & Dad before heading home.
Carving Pumpkins!
Yes, these are from way back in October! Oh, well. Late is better than never.
I discovered that my husband is pretty talented in the pumpkin carving area…
Happy 90th Birthday, Mamaw!
This past weekend, we celebrated my Mamaw’s 90th birthday with a surprise party at the Old Community House in Trumann. It was a huge hit! I’ve got a ton of photos to post for all the guests, but here is one of all the family members that were present.

Steven heads back to work.
When all of this is over I will have several posts to do. I have photos from our weekend at t he river, Ashley’s baby shower, and I’m sure I’ll have some of my sweet nieces.
Thirteen Thursday is BACK!
I just realized that I have not done a 13 Thursday list since the beginning of June! Ooops. Thursdays are just usually a busy day for me. I’m always running last minute errands and doing last minute housework before Steven comes home, so we won’t have to do it on the weekend.
Because I have a few hours before he gets home, I’ll do another photo post. Here are 13 random pictures from my computer.
1. May 7, 2006 – me and Hanna
2. March 2007 – Hanna enjoying some chocolate cake for her first birthday
3. My mother on her wedding day. This is probably my favorite photo ever.
4. Laren and me- December 30, 2005 at the rehearsal dinner for Whitney and Adam’s wedding.
5. Emerald, Biscuit, and Roush were napping together. Roush woke up and was trying to snuggle with Biscuit. 🙂
6. Jill looks really scary when she yawns.
7. Awww! Look at the cute little me when I was 2!
8. Roush napping with Minnie Pearl. I can’t believe how small she was then!
9. The Mr. and Mrs. on the ferris wheel at the NEA District Fair
10. One of the tractors on my grandma’s farm.
11. Steven showing off at a pool party last summer.
12. He was dressed up, so I had to take a picture.

13 Thursday
13 things about me and my family…
1. I like fast food. I don’t just eat it because it is cheap or convenient. I actually like it.
2. I have taken more than 5000 photos in the last 12 months.
3. People that are always “sick” drive me bananas. When they are actually sick I don’t feel sorry for them; it makes me want to laugh. Yeah, that’s not very nice.
4. I am addicted to my BlackBerry.
5. I get irritated everytime someone is talking about weddings and says, “Well you don’t really need a lot of decorations for the ceremony. You are only there for about 30 minutes.” Hello! That is where all of your formal pictures are usually taken, the ceremony photos ARE important, and what about the video? Besides, I’m pretty sure the ceremony is the most important part of the day. Maybe I was a crazy bridezilla, but my ceremony decor was just as important as my reception decorations. My ceremony photos are some of my favorites now.
6. I was a bridezilla. (I apologize to all of those that witnessed a fit. (-: )
7. I love muffins.
8. I have absolutely no athletic ability. I can’t even bowl. I’m a decent swimmer, does that count?
9. I would love to live on a lake. I don’t think I’ll ever convince Steven though.
10. Steven gets excited about little boy stuff. If we have to pick out a baby gift for a boy, he insists on going shopping for it with me. It’s really cute.
11. My sister and I fought like boys when we were little. We didn’t bother with name-calling.
12. My dad is the king of annoying punishments. Forget spanking – thumping them works much better. 🙂 We got knee spats in the car, thumped on the head or ear, and once even had to write a paper! Apparently annoyances get the idea over quicker than pain.
13. Steven and I refer to our dogs as our “girls.” He is their “Daddy,” and I am their “Mommy.”

Easter Weekend
We had a great Easter weekend. It was very busy, but also very fun. Friday we spent the afternoon just hanging out together. Steven got home really late on Thursday, and I had to work Friday morning, so it was really our first chance to see each other. Friday night we had dinner with our friends, Justin & Courtney.
Saturday morning we were lazy and laid in bed watching Bee Movie (which is really cute!). Saturday afternoon was spent shopping (Yay!) and at the church Easter Egg Hunt. The kids were so cute! We each bought new clothes for Easter, and I got the beautiful ring I’ve had my eye on since before Christmas. That night we had dinner with some more friends, and we had planned on going to play Glo Putt-Putt, but it wasn’t there anymore! 🙁 Instead we went to Blockbuster and bought a few movies and went home to get ready for Sunday morning.
After church on Sunday we headed to Trumann to visit with family over lunch.
We hope everyone had a great weekend!
More photos from the church egg hunt can be found on our church blog.
