Ten Things Tuesday

XBOX Wife Ten Things Tuesday

Bet ya thought I had forgotten about these, huh? Well, I haven’t. I have no excuse though. Just laziness. Here are a few things I have been thankful for lately.

1. The weather! Woohoo for warm days!
2. I have only 2 months until graduation. I think I can survive it.
3. I am thankful for my new furniture that should be arriving this week. Trust me, if you saw my pitiful, chewed on, stuffing deprived, down to one last throw pillow, old-lady print living room set, you’d be glad we’re getting new furniture too.
4. I am thankful for my hard-working husband who made that new furniture possible!
5. I am thankful that my hard-working husband is (supposedly) getting time off after tomorrow! He has had only about 6 days off since January 25th, so he is in need of a break.
6. I am VERY thankful that my husband was not hurt in his accident last week. God was definitely protecting him.
7. I’m thankful I only have one more class today. I’m tired.
8. I am thankful that I have been able to attend the Monday morning Bible Study at my church! If you haven’t done Beth Moore’s Esther study, go check it out. I’m loving it! I’m also pretty fond of all the girls doing the study with me. 🙂
9. I’m thankful for bananas. Random, I know. I really like them though. Bananas are my favorite fruit. Lately, I’ve been starting my day with a banana or a banana smoothie – except Mondays. Those are coffee days.
10. I’m thankful for spell check on Blogger. I type too fast. If it weren’t for those little red dotted lines, I’m pretty sure people would think I was illiterate and just hitting buttons on the keyboard. My dad would certainly be embarrassed.

Thirteen Thursday

I’ve been pretty lazy with my blogging lately. Actually, I’ve been pretty lazy overall, but that’s another story. In an attempt to actually accomplish something tonight, here is a 13 Thursday list of random pictures form my computer.

1. This is why Steven has no room to sleep when he comes home. All week long, Minnie has believed this was her spot, and then she’s expected to give it up?

2. Roush should be a model. He loves to have his picture taken. It’s a very strange thing for a cat to enjoy.

3. Roush also likes to sleep in very cute positions.

4. Occasionally, I can no longer stand throwing a nasty, slimy dog toy. Mr. Squeaky got a bath recently.

5. Steven’s latest toy:

6. I bet your grandma didn’t get vodka for Christmas! haha, ok it’s hairspray for her to use at work…and I think that box came from the beauty supply store. Why would they have a vodka box?

7. Christmas or a birthday party? Both actually. My cousin, Casey, was born on Christmas day of 1987 – 9 months and 6 days after me.

8. Sometimes on long trips, my husband does scary stuff to make me laugh.

9. Steven rarely finds a book interesting enough to read.
Emerald rarely chooses to sit in his lap.

10. He sure is cute when he sleeps, but I’m rarely awake before him.

11. Every family needs a sweet little cocker spaniel.

12. I love this picture. Taken about a month ago at 10 a.m. using available light.

13. This is my favorite picture of Biscuit of all time.

I’m back with Thirteen Thirsday!

I’ve been such a bad blogger! Life has just been insanely crazy lately, and I haven’t had the time to sit down and type out an entry. I have LOTS to blog about though! Over Christmas break, expect blogging overload from me. Hehe, I still have photos from Halloween to post! Anyway, here is my 13 Thursday list….

13 Things I’m Happy About Today

1. This semester is almost over! I wasn’t sure if I’d survive it for a while.

2. My husband is home every night now! It was definitely an adjustment (the mess in our house says so!), but we are loving it.

3. I have no class tomorrow. Yippee! I do however, have to take 3 online quizzes and an online test this weekend. Ick.

4. I finally got the instructor for my online class to go back and correct grading mistakes on my last quiz. (I made 20/20, but some of the questions were wrong, so it said I made 17/20.)

5. Tonight is the Christmas parade! I really, really hope we get to go. If we do, this will be the first time Steven and I have been to the parade together.

6. I am slowly but steadily getting caught up on photo editing. I think I might actually have everything finished in time for Christmas gifts.

7. I have a lot of my Christmas shopping done. I’m not finished, but definitely making good progress.

8. Our anniversary trip is only 2 weeks away! I can not wait. I so need a break!

9. I actually made it to class on time today. I didn’t think I would because I woke up late.

10. I am completely finished with 1 of my 5 classes this semester.

11. The wedding album I ordered came in today!

12. My husband has finally agreed to let me buy an automatic litter box! Woohoo! Now if only I can convince myself to part with the money…

13. The weekend has arrived…finally. 🙂

Thirteen Thursday

This week’s topic: Thirteen Things I’ve Learned About Myself this Year

With the end of the year coming up soon, here are several things I have learned about myself throughout my first year of marriage.

  1. Election season stresses me out.
  2. I have no construction abilities past hanging photos on the wall.
  3. I’m kind of opinionated, (we already knew that) but it is getting worse as I get older.
  4. Things that should stress me out don’t. (i.e. the national economic crisis)
  5. Things that shouldn’t stress me out do. (not getting laundry and dishes washed)
  6. I enjoy cooking only when I’m cooking what I want to be cooking.
  7. I need better time management skills. Or maybe I just need to say, “No” more?
  8. I really haven’t taken a lot of college classes that pertain to my career. I do however, know a bit about water aerobics, psychological disorders, radio/tv rules and regulations, sociological problems, and creating fliers and newsletters. Really helpful stuff for a photographer, huh?
  9. It doesn’t matter how interesting the subject is, I will fall asleep reading a text book.
  10. I’m a homebody. I really didn’t used to be. That’s a new development.
  11. I’m pretty stingy with my husband and his time. (That’s not nice, is it?)
  12. I am addicted to carbs.
  13. I learned that I haven’t learned 13 things about myself. :o)

Have a good day!

Finally!

This week is almost over!

In my last post, I gave an outline of how crazy this week was supposed to be. That was rather dumb. I should have known it would be ten times crazier than that. This is how it really went.

Monday, October 13 (tomorrow):

  • Finish the web site critique
  • Work on more sketches
  • Class at 2:00
  • Work on more sketches
  • Study for Abnormal Psychology Test
  • graphic design work and dinner with Natalie
  • More studying for psych. test

Tuesday, October 14:

  • UP AT 5:30 A.M.! (more sketching/studying)
  • Web site critique essay due
  • Abnormal Psychology test
  • Lunch + MORE sketching
  • Design book, rough draft due – Well, not really. Apparently most of the class misunderstood the assignment, so we pretty much were told to start over.
  • Write 3-page pager over the influences and contributions of the portable scanner to digital media and design

Wednesday, October 15:

  • Sketching again!
  • Took out trash, paid bills, switched ASU car tag info.
  • Lunch with my old roommate, Whitney – This is the point at which I realized I had left my photography equipment at home!
  • Ran home to disassemble photo background and lighting kit (that I ended up not using) and grab my camera
  • Class at 2:00 – Paper over the portable scanner due
  • Photo session at 3:30 (LOTS of fun! I got some great shots too.)
  • MORE SKETCHING
  • Assemble logo design for class on the computer
  • Start editing photos from this week

Basically, I’m exhausted. I’m going to bed.

I don’t mean to be rude.

I feel like this girl right now.

If you have tried to contact me in some form or attempt to contact me this week, don’t worry if you haven’t/don’t hear back from me right away. I’m not trying to be rude, I’m just super, super busy. I will get back to you though! Right now I’m taking a breather to let my mind settle before heading to bed.

Here’s a little look into my crazy life lately:

Thursday, October 9:

  • Class from 9:30 – 2:30
  • Went wedding dress shopping with a friend
  • Drove to Batesville to pick up Steven

Friday, October 10:

  • Steven rented a backhoe and demolished/cleaned up our backyard. (Photos to come!)
  • I finished editing Kayli’s pictures (check out my photo blog!)
  • I started on a 4 page (so far!) web site critique essay.
  • We went to the Westside/Highland football game (Go Warriors!)

Saturday, October 11:

  • I continued work on my essay.
  • Steven continued work on the yard.
  • I did LOTS of laundry.
  • I took 2 quizzes for my online class.
  • We had a date night and went to see Fireproof. Awesome movie! We both really liked it.

Sunday, October 12:

  • Revival started at church
  • I taught the toddler class.
  • Lunch at church.
  • I went to the bank while Steven went to pick up the TrailBlazer from the shop. (Oh yeah, did I mention we’ve been down to one car for a week now?)
  • We came home, Steven grabbed a container and went to get diesel for the backhoe, and I put together my photo equipment. I also discovered that one of my light heads doesn’t work! I’ll be on the phone about that in the morning.
  • Steven packed up and left for work, and I sat down to take a test for my online class.
  • I spent an hour or so photographying my buddy, Carter, at his grandparents’ house.
  • I had dinner with Jason, Nikki, and Carter.
  • I came home and worked on my web site critique essay some more.
  • I started the typed portion and did some more sketches for a 40-page design book I have due on Tuesday!

And the upcoming schedule…

Monday, October 13 (tomorrow):

  • Finish the web site critique
  • Work on more sketches
  • Class at 2:00
  • Gym time/studying for Abnormal Psychology Test (I multitask!)

  • Web site critique essay due
  • Abnormal Psychology test
  • Design book, rough draft due
  • Write 3-page pager over the influences and contributions of the portable scanner to digital media and design

Wednesday, October 15:

  • BREATH!
  • Class at 2:00 – Paper over the portable scanner due
  • Photo session at 3:30
  • Church (or more likely, sleep!)
  • Put together door prize for Saturday
  • Start editing photos from this week

Thursday, October 16:

  • Clean house/laundry
  • Print order forms for craft show
  • Steven comes home

Friday, October 17:

  • Photograph a birthday party at Craighead Forest Park

See? I told you I was busy, busy this week!
P.S. – Please pray that I don’t lose my mind and/or forget anything really important!

Thirteen Thursday – Confessions

I haven’t done a Thirteen Thursday list in a while, so I figure I can come up with 13 confessions for your entertainment.

  1. I have enough pink that I could wear a different pink shirt everyday for more than two weeks.
  2. I have recurring nightmares about snakes.
  3. I have recurring nightmares about people dying, and it is always one of the same two people.
  4. I am 21 years old, and I still whine. Ask my husband.
  5. My husband and I haven’t had a planned date since the end of July or beginning of August, neither of us remember exactly. (Don’t worry! We have one planned for this weekend!)
  6. I’m a night owl.
  7. I like doing laundry.
  8. My husband and I rarely, if ever, argue over money. (Are you surprised that we actually agree on something? haha)
  9. I cry at movies that shouldn’t be cried over.
  10. I don’t like mowing the yard.
  11. I chew on the caps to my pens.
  12. I am considering homeschooling our future children.
  13. I am a CrackBerry Addict.

It’s back! Ten Things Tuesday!

XBOX Wife Ten Things Tuesday

Unfortunately, life has gotten hectic, and I haven’t been the faithful Tuesday blogger I used to be. (Sorry, Heather!) I’m back though, at least for today.

Things I am thankful for…

1. My first class on Tuesday and Thursday is only 1 hr. 15 min. long. Any longer and I’d go totally crazy. 🙂

2. My wonderful husband.

3. My husband’s job – not only does he love it, but it allows me to concentrate on my education and doing what I love, photography.

4. Starbucks and muffins. Yum.

5. Monday morning bible study time.

6. I get my rings back tomorrow! Oh I can’t wait!

7. Emerald hasn’t eaten her newest chew toy!

8. Steven is done with storm work for now! Yay! Let’s just hope we get a good break before ice storms start rolling in.

9. My yard is mowed.

10. My online class. If only some of my regular classes could be online classes…

Time for Ten Things Tuesday Again!

XBOX Wife Ten Things Tuesday

Here we are again, another Tuesday! I’ll try to keep up with this more, now that I know at least one person depends on it for entertainment. (I love you, Heather!) I’ll admit, I’ve been sort of grumpy the last few days with the husband being gone, so I’m going to use this as an excuse to be happy today.

1. My husband’s hardworking nature. He could work circles around me.

2. The friendly lady at Wal-Mart this morning. She let me check out at the customer service desk because all the lines were so long, and she was so nice and happy.

3. Dollar Tree. I’ve gotten some great fall decor items there in the last few days!

4. Cooler weather. I was getting really tired of the heat and humidity.

5. Hurricane season paychecks. Ok, as much as I hate Steven being gone, it is nice to know that we have that extra money for things we need (as in a new mower, but that’s a whole ‘nother post. I’ll do that one of these days!). And I do enjoy the new tv…

6. I have made A’s on the first two quizzes of my online class! Very thankful for that. This is the first online class I have taken, so I was a little nervous at first.

7. Courtney cake! I’m craving it right now…

8. Today I am thankful to be out of the house. Normally, I love being at home, but today dogs decided to go on a barking spree over anything and everything. All morning. It was driving me nuts. I even left for class 30 minutes early.

9. My essay printed correctly on the first try this morning! I forgot to buy a new ink cartridge yesterday, so I just knew I’d have trouble printing it at school this morning before class, but I didn’t.

10. Cell phones! I don’t know what we would do without them. I’d go crazy if I couldn’t talk to Steven everyday.

Ten Things Tuesday

XBOX Wife Ten Things Tuesday

1. I was able to get all the books I needed within the first week of classes!

2. My last class of the day ended early today.

3. My 11:00 class is canceled for Thursday.

4. Steven was able to call me today.

5. A new Nicholas Sparks movie is coming out soon!!!! Nights in Rodanthe (which is one of my favorite N.S. books) will be in theaters on September 26!!! It is a Friday night, and I have already made plans to go see it with Lauren.

6. The Jonesboro Library has section on their site where you can recheck your books online. I love this feature! It is definitely a gas saver for me. You can also look online to see what books they have on the shelves.

7. Because of the construction going on at the library, I get to keep the two books I checked out last month until October! I love to read, but with classes starting back, sometimes it is hard to find time.

8. I get to sleep a little later in the morning. Well, as late as my dogs will let me. That is usually not more than 30 minutes.

9. My toe nails are painted! I finally got a chance to redo them this past weekend. Having painted toes always makes me feel a little prettier.

10. I have something fun in the works with my new friend, Kendy…..
