How far along? 27 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 14 lbs.
Maternity clothes? Yep
Stretch marks? no new ones
Sleep: just dandy
Best moment this week: Getting a surprise gift in the mail from my friend Heather!
Movement: Yes, and he’s finally starting to be a little less shy around his daddy.
Food cravings: Salad
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: nope
Belly Button in or out? still in
What I miss: I really can’t think of anything at the moment.
What I am looking forward to: Taking Steven to Almyra for the first time this weekend.
Weekly Wisdom: Do not wait until you are actually hungry to start cooking or making something for lunch. If you think you’ll be hungry in 15-30 minutes, start something. By the time I actually had lunch ready today, I was starving. Not good. Apparently my kid goes from not hungry at all to starving to death in less than 5 minutes.
Baby’s Development:
“This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.” – babycenter.com
“Got a sudden pain in your rear? That’s just baby, settling into place for his upcoming debut. His head might be pressing on your sciatic nerve, which can cause pain and numbness down the backs of your legs. Don’t worry — it’ll ease up soon after labor. For now, your aching back deserves a pat. You’ve reached trimester three!” – thebump.com
